Question

Where do we need Azure presence?

Start with the business reason for considering another region. Evaluate expected markets and users, datacenter and partner locations, planned launches or migrations, anticipated growth, proximity requirements, and geographic concentration risk.

Decision

Confirm that the region has sufficient business value to justify deeper assessment.

Regions that don't pass this check don't need deeper assessment. Regions that pass continue to data and compliance, which can exclude a region outright.

  • Select Azure regions — The primary reference for aligning regional choices with user locations, business requirements, and deployment considerations.
  • Azure geographies — Explore Azure's geographic footprint and identify locations relevant to your markets and operations.
